On January 1st, 2021 St. Mary’s own Sharon Hanns, will be awarded the Order of the Diocese of Toronto by Bishop Andrew Asbil. The focus of the Order is to recognize and honour volunteers in our Diocese who have given outstanding service over a significant period of time in their volunteer ministries in their home parish and also the wider Diocese. Sharon was nominated for this award by members of St. Mary’s, who wanted to recognize Sharon’s leadership and service over many years, and also as a pivotal leader during the parish’s efforts to continue ministry during Covid-19.
We give thanks to God for the work and witness of Sharon, who in the exercise of her baptismal ministry has demonstrated the order motto; “their light shines, their works glorify.”
