The Reverend Matthew McMillan
Parish Priest

In September of 2017 St. Mary’s welcomed The Reverend Matthew McMillan as our new parish priest. Fr. Matthew joined us after serving 8 1/2 years as the Rector of Churchill and Cookstown, a two point parish in the Town of Innisfil. Our new priest joins us after having studied Political Science at Huron College, Agricultural Business at the University of Guelph and having had a career with the Government of the Province of Ontario. In 2006 Fr. Matthew graduated from the University of Toronto’s, Trinity College with his Master’s of Divinity. After completing his seminary studies he served jointly as Lay Pastoral Associate at All Saints, Peterborough and Youth Minister at St. Peter’s, Cobourg. In May of 2007 he was ordained and served his curacy at St. Timothy’s, Agincourt in Scarborough.
Fr. Matthew and his wife Pam have 4 children: Riley, Keely, Molly and Dougal. You’ll usually find Fr. Matthew on the go between parish and family activities. In his spare time he can be found enjoying the outdoors, tidying up after one of the kids or visiting with family and friends. Fr. Matthew’s dedicated office hours are Tuesday – Thursday mornings from 9 am till noon, and other times by appointment.

Soyoung Shin
Director of Music and Organist

Soyoung Shin earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from Chung-Ang University and a Master of Music degree in Piano Accompanying from Sungshin Women’s University in Seoul, South Korea. In addition, she has earned a Master of Music degree in Church Music, Organ Performance from the University of Alabama in the U.S. While she was attending the University of Alabama, she studied organ with Dr. Faythe Freese and choral conducting with Dr. John Ratledge.
Soyoung is married to Sangkyu Lee and has two sons, Junmin and Junhee. Her husband is an ordained Korean Methodist Pastor and he is working on his doctoral degree in Homiletics at the University of Toronto.

Lucia Ferrara
Office Administrator

Lucia Ferrara became Office Administrator at St. Mary’s in September of 2021. Lucia comes to St. Mary’s with much knowledge of our community and a professional background in editing and publishing. Lucia and her husband Jonathan live in Richmond Hill with their daughter Corradina.
