St Mary’s Interim Priest in Charge

Please welcome Karen Hatch to St. Mary’s.  Karen is currently our Interim Priest-in-Charge.  She served as the Incumbent of Trinity Anglican Church, Aurora from April 1st, 2019 to July 2022.  She previously served as the Incumbent of St Margaret in-the-Pines, Priest-in-Charge of St. Margaret’s Tamil Anglican Church and was the Assistant Curate at St. George’s on-the-Hill and St. Matthew’s Islington.  She has a B.A. in Languages & Literature from the University of Toronto, a Master of Divinity from Wycliffe College and a Master of Pastoral Studies from Emmanuel College. Karen was ordained deacon and priest in 2009 and has served on the Anglican Diocese of Toronto’s Trusts Committee and Council as well as Provincial Synod.  Karen is married to Brian, her husband of 29 years and lives in Richmond Hill with their cat Edward.

Elliott Barenthin

Interim Director of Music and Organist

Please join us in welcoming Elliott Barenthin as our Interim Music Director.

Elliott is currently in his 4th year at the University of Toronto, in the Jazz Performance Program.

Elliott has had the opportunity to perform as Pianist with various groups and events including the Toronto All Star Big Band (2022), the Aurora Borealis Big Band (2023), and was the CAA Lounge Solo Piano Performer at the Royal Alexandra Theatre during Two Pianos Four Hands in 2022.  In 2021, he formed the 6Feet Apart Trio, a group formed during the pandemic and performed at the Toronto Undergraduate Jazz Festival at Ontario Place.

Please join us in welcoming Elliott to the St. Mary’s community as we embrace his musical guidance over the coming months.

Roz Espin is the St. Mary’s Office Administrator as of January 2024.

Mahmut Terci

St. Mary’s Sexton and Caretaker
St. Mary’s would like to welcome Mahmut to our parish as our new Sexton and Caretaker.  Mahmut looks forward to meeting the St. Mary’s community while he works to keep our spaces at St. Mary’s ready for all our activities and ministries.  If you notice any cleaning needs or your parish group requires any assistance for upcoming events, please contact the office and Mahmut will be happy to help ensure everything is ready for your event or program.
