The Reverend Matthew McMillan
In September of 2017 St. Mary’s welcomed The Reverend Matthew McMillan as our new parish priest. Fr. Matthew joined us after serving 8 1/2 years as the Rector of Churchill and Cookstown, a two point parish in the Town of Innisfil. Our new priest joins us after having studied Political Science at Huron College, Agricultural Business at the University of Guelph and having had a career with the Government of the Province of Ontario. In 2006 Fr. Matthew graduated from the University of Toronto’s, Trinity College with his Master’s of Divinity. After completing his seminary studies he served jointly as Lay Pastoral Associate at All Saints, Peterborough and Youth Minister at St. Peter’s, Cobourg. In May of 2007 he was ordained and served his curacy at St. Timothy’s, Agincourt in Scarborough.
Fr. Matthew and his wife Pam have 4 children: Riley, Keely, Molly and Dougal. You’ll usually find Fr. Matthew on the go between parish and family activities. In his spare time he can be found enjoying the outdoors, tidying up after one of the kids or visiting with family and friends. Fr. Matthew’s dedicated office hours are Tuesday – Thursday mornings from 9 am till noon, and other times by appointment.

Director of Music and Organist
Soyoung Shin earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from Chung-Ang University and a Master of Music degree in Piano Accompanying from Sungshin Women’s University in Seoul, South Korea. In addition, she has earned a Master of Music degree in Church Music, Organ Performance from the University of Alabama in the U.S. While she was attending the University of Alabama, she studied organ with Dr. Faythe Freese and choral conducting with Dr. John Ratledge.
Soyoung is married to Sangkyu Lee and has two sons, Junmin and Junhee. Her husband is an ordained Korean Methodist Pastor and he is working on his doctoral degree in Homiletics at the University of Toronto.

Director of ‘Next Gen’ Ministries
St. Mary’s would like to welcome Amanda Ball, as our new, ‘Director of Next Generation Ministries.’ Amanda and her husband, Michael, joined the St. Mary’s family in January of 2020. Amanda is very passionate about pointing the next generation to Jesus and helping them find an authentic faith and hope in their lives.
Amanda is a Tyndale University College & Seminary (Toronto, ON) graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies & Theology. She has also recently completed all requirements for a Master of Theology from Queen’s College (St. John’s, NL) which will be granted to her in the Spring of 2020.
We look forward to Amanda helping us to launch new programming for St. Mary’s as we expand our activities to grow and equip the next generation with tools for life and a vibrant faith. Amanda’ portfolio of work will include organizing and managing all of our weekly and monthly youth, children and family related activities at St. Mary’s.
Both Amanda and Michael were born and raised in St. John’s, Newfoundland. They and their three cats, Moe, Phil, and Timmy are excited to be moving our part of the GTA at the beginning of January. Please extend a warm welcome to Amanda and Michael as we welcome them into our new St. Mary’s family.

Betty Lehming has been Office Administrator at St. Mary’s since July 2015. She has many years’ experience in church administration, including service at a local Mennonite congregation. Prior to that she worked in a number of other administrative positions, having trained as a legal secretary. Betty’s outside interests include music and the arts. She and her family live in Stouffville.
