Gwen was the former Executive Director of the York Region YMCA, who on retirement served in many capacities with the United Way of York Region and was a dedicated volunteer in the community of Richmond Hill and at St. Mary’s.  Gwen’s funeral service was held at St. Mary’s on Saturday, June 22nd at 2:00 p.m. with cremation and private burial is to occur later.  The parish and people of St. Mary’s join with Gwen’s family in giving thanks for her many accomplishments which helped to shape and support Richmond Hill as the municipality grew and blossomed in the late 20th Century.  We pray that Gwen’s faithful service and loving kindness will continue to inspire our community to serve the needs of those forgotten by others and do so in Jesus’ name.
