For those new to our parish, every year our church has its annual meeting, where we gather to hear about the work done in the year ended, and then formally as the gathered church, approve the plans and finances for the year ahead.  This meetings is traditionally called “Vestry”.  This name comes from the small church office that was where the church records and meetings were held.  The understanding was that each year, the congregation was to be reported to or given access, so that the community could support church leaders and also hold them to account for ensuring proper activities were occurring on the church’s behalf.
