St. Mary’s “Stay-at-Home Order” Programming Update

Many of you may be wondering, “how have the recent Government of Ontario announcement impacted our activities at St. Mary’s?”   Your parish leaders and I would like to share some updates about our plans and what is happening at the church during the “Stay-at-Home” Order.

On Wednesday, April 7th during the Provincial News Briefing, the Government of Ontario provided guidance to religious organisations about how they are to proceed under the new Order.  Churches and other religious organisations have permission to continue to operate at 15% capacity for only limited and specific activities.  Because of this, St. Mary’s will be staying open for public worship.

At the present time we are only allowed to open for; Weddings, Funerals and Services of Worship, while not exceeding 15% capacity.  The seating capacity of St. Mary’s is 300 people, so our 15% limit translates into a maximum attendance of 45 people.  While we continue with our in-person reopening plan, each Sunday we will continue to provide our live-broadcast at 10:30 am, which is both accessible over the internet and phone.

At the present time, St. Mary’s has our 8 am and 10:30 am services available for online registration.  We ask all those interested in attending to make advanced reservations using the system on our homepage.  The church continues to maintain our strict health controls and sanitising routines, to ensure our facilities are safe and secure for everyone.

Our Office Administrator (Betty Lehming) will be in the office; Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, from 10 am till 2 pm.  Should you need to touch base or have any questions, please call the office (905) 884-2227 and Betty would be glad to help.

Stay safe and know we are with you!

Blessings,

Father Matthew and St. Mary’s Wardens
